Soung V., born in 1961, lives in Kampong Cham with her husband and four children. She works with her husband on the family's farm, making $3-$4 each day together. One of their daughters is employed in a local garment factory, while the other three are currently unemployed.
Soung is requesting a loan of $1100 to combine with her personal savings to purchase a car which will enable one of her children to operate a taxi service and generate some additional income for the family. Inflation is rising rapidly in Cambodia, and farmers are feeling a great deal of the economic strain. Diversifying the family's sources of income can allow this family to improve its living conditions and get out of poverty.
