Savoeun
Savoeun, 45, is married with two children who are going to school. She currently lives with her family in a remote area of Santuk district in Kampong Thom province. She is an industrious farmer who has been working in the agricultural sector for nearly 20 years. She primarily grows rice crops to sell after harvest season. With her earnings from farming, Savoeun is able to provide food for her family and allowances for her school-age children.

Currently, Savoeun’s family has an unhygienic latrine for use, so it can’t provide her family healthful living conditions. That’s why she is asking for a loan to build a safe, hygienic latrine to promote their health. Thanks to the water loan program offered by HKL with a special rate. It has encouraged Savoeun to focus on ensuring healthy living conditions to safeguard the health of her family and protect the environment.

More information about this loan

This loan is part of HKL's new water and sanitation loan program designed to help improve living standards of poor and low-income people living in Cambodia. Loans under the program are directed at various products that help improve access to clean water and improved sanitation facilities including loans for water tanks, filters, wells, distribution, and latrines. About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
