Alex is a married man with four children who go to school. He owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water.
He operates a cafe business, making staples like rice, tea, beans and chapati (flat bread) for sale to passersby and neighbors. He cited seasonality as his major challenge.
With the Kshs 20,000 he wants to purchase a stock of goods, including maize flour, wheat flour, rice and drinks for the business. His dream is to see his children get a better education and become important persons in the society.
