Halima is married with seven children, three adults and four in school. They own a house that has electricity but not piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food for the family.
Halima has operated a clothes-selling business for the past 15 years. She sells to her town dwellers, passersby and neighbors. In her business, she faces the major challenge of inflation.
With the Kshs 100,000 she wants to purchase bales of clothes for resale. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
