Chanly
A 45-year-old mother of six children, residing in Ou Dong district of Kampong Speu province, Chanly is a bread-winner in the family and she strives for a living via rice farming as the main source of her income. Her supplementary income is from porridge-selling and an income from her husband's occupation via driving a taxi for a fee.

This is the tenth cycle for Chanly with VisionFund Cambodia (Kiva’s partner). The past loan, which she has completely repaid, has enabled her to keep her children in school and to improve her lifestyle.

For this cycle, Chanly wants to focus on her child’s education. Hence, she applied for an education loan to cover the tuition for her daughter, who wants to pursue her study, majoring in mathematics. Chanly hopes that her daughter can get a good job after graduating.

About VisionFund Cambodia

VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.

Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
