More information about this loan
This loan is part of WANA Solutions' effort to empower women entrepreneurs in rural regions of Uganda to start their own liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) sales businesses with training and hands-on support from staff. Currently, most women in rural Uganda spend much of their day cooking over open fires. This damages their health and limits their ability to engage in other income-generating activities.
Under this program, each borrower will receive her loan in-kind, as LPG equipment. Each loan includes one metric ton of LPG, 80 cylinders of varying sizes, 10 regulators, 10 meters of hosepipe, as well as other clean energy accessories such as stoves. By funding this loan, you are playing an important role in providing a woman in Uganda with the means to increase her income and improve her own living standards and those of her family.
This Kiva loan will be used to provide borrowers with needed goods or services, as opposed to cash or financial credit
About Wana Solutions:Wana Solutions joined Kiva through our Experimental Partnership Program, and has therefore received a lighter level of due diligence. Accordingly, loans associated with this partner carry a higher level of risk than typical Kiva loans.
