Emad is 28 years old. He lives with his wife and two children in Nablus. One of his children attends primary school. Nablus is a city in the northern West Bank, approximately 49 kilometers north of Jerusalem, with a population of 126,132.

Emad does not have enough money to do some work in his house so he applied for a loan to improve the house and make it better. He wants to extend the plumbing and install doors, which will help to warm the house, especially now that it is winter.

Emad said that this loan will help him a lot and he is very grateful to everyone who helps him.

More information about this loan

This loan is part of Ryada’s efforts to reach areas of the West Bank which are underserved due to the political situation. Funds will be used to finance housing improvements in refugee camps and Areas B and C of the West Bank. The Palestinian Authority currently has limited to no authority in these areas, making it very difficult for individuals to acquire official construction and building permits. Without the necessary documentation, banks are unlikely to lend to these individuals. By supporting this loan, you are helping individuals overcome this challenge so that they can improve their living conditions.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
