Avdyl is in need of your financial help; he has been told that he needs stomach surgery, but the procedure hasn’t yet been scheduled yet because he lacks the money to help him cover the medical expenses. This will be the first time for Avdyl to apply for a loan; until now he has maintained good health, which, according to him comes as a result of breathing fresh air in the village and eating organic foods with plenty of protein, vegetables, fruit and home-made dairy products. Avdyl is the father of eight children, and he has been focused on his agriculture/livestock activity for nearly twenty years. Like the others who undertake similar activities, he has been selling the products beside the national road, where he has built a little primitive booth.
About VisionFund Albania
VisionFund Albania is a micro-finance subsidiary of child hunger nonprofit World Vision International. Striving to improve child welfare, the organization offers a variety of loan products designed for rural, traditionally underserved clients and their families. These products include agriculture, business and household improvement loans, as well as "integration loans" targeted to help the poorest, most vulnerable Albanian households acquire value chain resources.
While VFA is focused on the empowerment of the poor overall, it pays special attention to women. About 60% of loans to entrepreneurs on Kiva go to women.
