Sadly, for lack of economic resources and because he had to start working at a very young age, Paata was unable to study a professional career. He works hard on family-owned agricultural land, growing maize, strawberries, and nut trees. He always has high quality products which are sold to local retailers for a good price, but the income from this activity isn't enough to meet the basic needs of his family.
To continue running his agribusiness in a sustainable way, Paata needs 1,000 GEL to start trading with citrus, purchasing it and then continuing seasonally with other products. He received the credit in the framework of the joint initiative of Kiva and Credo, a so-called Startup Program that gives rural poor people the chance to start or re-start businesses. Paata also has a truck and nowadays serves local people. After starting citrus trading he will move the products with his car and sell them to the local market.
Paata and his family rely on the good will of the lenders and will be thankful to them for their support in collecting the needed loan to sustain his agribusiness.
