Elías es un padre amoroso y un esposo atento, que lucha incansablemente por sacar adelante su familia. Ha sido un hombre dedicado al comercio independiente, pues desde hace muchos años ha tenido negocio propio, una charcutería donde presta el servicio de alquiler de juego de billar y vende cerveza, licor, mecato, dulces, entre otros, trabaja todos los días en horas de la tarde, ya que en las mañanas alterna con la labor de reciclaje y compraventa de chatarra que almacena en un local al frente del billar, además tiene un vehículo en el que transporta el material reciclado y con el cual también presta el servicio de acarreos; así es como genera los recursos suficientes para llevar el sustento diario a su hogar.
El crédito que solicita, es para invertirlo en el negocio de los billares, pues necesita realizar adecuaciones locativas (pintar las paredes y redistribuir el espacio), esto le permitirá atender mejor a su clientela en la temporada de navidad, en la que se incrementa el flujo de personas y las ventas, mejorando el nivel de ingresos que obtiene.
Elías tiene como propósito continuar con sus labores y perdurar aún más en el tiempo, para garantizarle a su familia una estabilidad económica favorable que le brinde la oportunidad de disfrutar una vejez tranquila y en armonía con los que ama.

This loan is structured on Kiva as a bullet loan, which means a single payment is required at the end of the loan term. By Colombian law, Kiva's partner Interactuar is required to offer borrowers loans with a variable interest rate that fluctuates with the market rate. Because fixed monthly payments are applied first to interest and then to principal, Interactuar is unable to predict upfront what portion of each repayment would go towards the loan principal. This creates a challenge with Kiva's system, which doesn't allow for unpredictable principal payments, and can result in some Interactuar clients appearing falsely delinquent. To remedy this, the loan has an end-of-term repayment plan on Kiva, but the borrower will continue scheduled monthly repayments to Interactuar, who will then pass along the principal amount to Kiva lenders. This means that you may see repayments made on this loan throughout the repayment term, as opposed to receiving repayment in full at the end of the loan term.
