Niezel is operating her swine fattening business to aid her husband's income from employment. She has been raising pigs for more than five years, earning well for a living.
She borrowed a loan from GDMPC micro credit to purchase livestock supplies. Niezel is hopeful to gain more income and plans to save a portion of her profit for the future education of her two children.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
