Nelbe has operated a swine fattening business for a year to aid her husband's income from working. By selling pigs in the market, Nelbe earns well enough that she was able to support the school needs of her two children. She wants to improve her business and decided to joined GDMPC and borrowed a loan to purchase livestock feed. Improving her business is her great dream, for she wants to have a better living in the future.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
