Richard is married with two children and provides for his family from his earnings from the farm. He has been growing and harvesting coconuts and bananas for more than five years, earning well for the family.
He wants to improve the farm but his income cannot afford it without his GDMPC micro credit loan that he used for the banana farm weeding maintenance costs. He is hopeful to earn more income for he had invested financially and more effort in order to provide his family a better living for their future.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
