Makvala is 47-year-old married woman. She lives with her husband, daughter and mother in a small village of Bolnisi district. The family is involved in agricultural activities. In particular, they have two pigs and a plot of agricultural land, where potatoes, maize and haricots are grown. They all work hard to ensure in a good harvest, which is sold locally at a good price.

Makvala decided to expand her husbandry and requested a loan. The Start Up program, which is a joint initiative with Kiva and Credo, enables her to get a loan of 4,000 GEL (Georgia lari) to purchase a cow and calves. She will start producing dairy products and sell them, as well as use them for the family. The Start Up program will be a great support for the family.
