The “Poderosa” loan group is made up of seven ladies who live in the city of Cuenca, known for its cold climate, its four rivers that bathe it, for its natural landscape and architecture. It’s been a World Heritage site since December 1999. Its people maintain their culture and traditions and are friendly people with warm hearts. These members work for the stability of their household and to provide their children with a better future.

Ximena is one of the members and she is asking for her first loan, along with her friends from the Poderosa loan group. She was invited to join by the group’s president and expects the loans to help her improve the stability of her household.

Ximena is 34 years old, in a common law marriage, and doesn’t have any children. Her husband is a mobile vendor and they live in a rented house.

Ximena is an informal merchant and sells laces, headbands, bows, etc. and has been doing so for four years. She works seven days a week with no set schedule. She also sells a large variety of cosmetics.

She will use the money from this loan to buy headbands and cosmetics so that she will have a variety in stock. Her dream is to have her own house.

El grupo de crédito Poderosas está formado por 7 mujeres quienes viven en la ciudad de Cuenca, esta ciudad es reconocida por su clima frió, por los 4 ríos que la bañan, por sus paisajes naturales y su arquitectura, es desde Diciembre de 1999 Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad. Su gente mantiene sus tradiciones y su cultura, son personas amables y de un corazón cálido. Las socias laboran para mejorar la estabilidad de sus hogares para brindarles a sus hijos un mejor futuro.
Una de las socias de este grupo es la Señora. Ximena, se encuentra realizando su primer crédito a lado de sus amigas del grupo de crédito Ponderosas, fue invitada por la presidenta del grupo y espera que los créditos le ayuden a mejorar la estabilidad de su hogar.
La Señora Ximena tiene 34 años de edad, vive en unión libre, aún no ha concebido hijos, su esposo se dedica al negocio ambulante, no tienen casa propia por lo que viven arrendando.
Doña Ximena se dedica al comercio informal, vende lasos, vinchas, moños, etc. lleva 4 años en el negocio y labora de domingo a domingo sin un horario fijo, también se dedica la venta de una gran variedad de cosméticos.
Su crédito va a invertir en la compra de vinchas y cosméticos para tener variedad. Su sueño es tener su casa propia.
