Susanna is an experienced agronomist from Zadea village in the Vaytos Dzor region. She lives with her husband and 9 year old son. Susanna works in the postal service, and her husband works as a contractual serviceman in the military service. Both of them work hard to be able to earn a living. Their salaries, however, are not enough to cover the daily expenses of the family.

It has been more than 15 years since Susanna was engaged in cattle breeding, in aviculture (breeding birds), in breeding sheep, and in the cultivation of several fruits (peach, apricot, apple, pear, and walnut). With the help of her husband, she realizes the agricultural products needed in the local market, which is a very important source of their income.

To continue running her agribusiness in a sustainable way, Susanna needs a loan of USD $2,500 to purchase six sheep and a calf and to make previous credit repayments. She has already taken a loan from a local financial institution before, but unfortunately wasn't able to return it back. However, thanks to the hard work during the recent times, Susanna was able to run her agribusiness in a sustainable way, ensuring that she will be able to cover the monthly payments. So, she has now been approved for a loan within the framework of a new joint initiative between Kiva and SEF international. The second-chance loan program provides loans to people who have a bad credit history and have no access to credit products. Susanna and her family will be thankful to all the lenders for helping them to maintain their agribusiness.
