Marya
Marya is 32 years old. She lives with her husband and her six children in Nablus. Five of the children attend the public primary school.

Marya is asking Ryada for this loan that will allow her to put shutters on the windows and to extend electricity to her house. This will help her to take a step forward because she has a shortage of money.

Marya is very grateful to everyone who helps her. The one who appears in the photo is her husband. For reasons of culture, Marya can’t publish her photos online, for which she apologizes.

More information about this loan

This loan is part of Ryada’s efforts to reach areas of the West Bank which are underserved due to the political situation. Funds will be used to finance housing improvements in refugee camps and Areas B and C of the West Bank. The Palestinian Authority currently has limited to no authority in these areas, making it very difficult for individuals to acquire official construction and building permits. Without the necessary documentation, banks are unlikely to lend to these individuals. By supporting this loan, you are helping individuals overcome this challenge so that they can improve their living conditions.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
