Esther is married and has five children, four in school and one underage. She lives at her own house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are household consumables and school fees.
For over two years, she has operated a tailoring business, making garments for both men and women as well as curtains. She cites seasonality as her major challenge.
With the 30,000 KES she wants to purchase cloth materials and sewing threads for her business. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
