The members’ businesses include bed sales, a neighborhood store, clothing sales, CD sales, cooking pot sales, shoe sales, blanket and camisole knitting, and sweat suit sales.

This loan will benefit their small businesses, including Lourdes’. She has been with Pro Mujer for a year and joined on the invitation of a promoter who visited her in her home. She sells shoes and says that she learned this business after acquiring a sewing machine. After she learned how to make shoes she set up her business.

This loan will allow her to increase her working capital and buy leather from the large suppliers in El Alto then make and sell her products in her stall. This type of work allows her to generate income to support her household. She is single and works to support her mother financially

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she says that she likes the training in loans and health.

La A.C. “HORMIGUITAS OBRERAS” iniciará el segundo ciclo en Pro Mujer, como parte del Centro Focal de Collpani, está compuesta por ocho integrantes y está dirigida por una mesa directiva donde la señora Lourdes es la Presidenta. Los negocios que las integrantes de la asociación comunal llevan adelante son variados entre ellos existen: venta de camas, tienda de barrio, venta de ropa, venta de CD’s, venta de ollas, venta de calzados, tejido de mantillas y chambras, venta de busos.

El crédito que sacaran beneficiara a pequeñas microempresarias donde la señora Lourdes es integrante, ella indica que hace un año que integra Pro Mujer, ingresando por invitación de una promotora de la institución que fue a visitarle a su casa. En la actualidad ella tiene un negocio de venta de calzados; cuenta que este negocio lo aprendió al adquirir una máquina de coser, posteriormente a aprender la técnica de elaboración de calzados decide implementarlo independiente mente.

El crédito que ahora sacará es para el aumento de capital (compra de cuero) que adquirirá de las tiendas mayoristas de la ciudad de La Paz y posteriormente a la elaboración lo comercializará en su espacio de venta. Esta forma de trabajo le permite generar recursos para mantener en lo posible a su hogar pues ella es soltera y realiza el trabajo para apoyar a su madre económicamente.

Cuando se le consulta qué le gusta de Pro Mujer, ella responde que le gusta las capacitaciones en crédito y salud.
