Ramona De Jesus
Ramona de Jesus is 43 years old, and she lives with Jesús. They have been together for several years, and today form a beautiful family with two children. The older already has a family, and the younger is 12 years old and is attending secondary school. Her husband works transporting people and goods, among other things. He works for the owner of a vehicle because his economic situation has not allowed him to acquire his own means of work.

Ramona and her family live in San Domingo de los Tsáchilas, a new province of Ecuador that, being the bridge between the mountains and the coast, is known as an excellent geographic location. It also has a warm, humid climate which allows for great agricultural production.

Ramona works selling cosmetics occasionally, but for a time, her strength is preparing grilled meats to sell, an activity she does in her home using a small oven that she purchased for starting her small business. She and her family have lived in the Barrio la Castellana for five years. This sector is well-traveled, which is why her business has grown in this short time.

Ramona is applying for credit to invest in the repair of the roof of her home and in the purchase of chairs and table to furnish her business and offer better service to her customers. Today she is grateful to Fundación Alternative and to Kiva for making her great dream of improving herself become a reality.
