Anabel is a Kubo Financiero customer, and this is her story:
She is 39 years old, and married with three children. She has fifteen years of experience in the business of selling greens and other vegetables in different open-air markets.

Anabel sets up her stall in different markets from Saturday to Thursday and rests on Friday. Five young people work with her and help her sell her vegetables. She is requesting this loan to improve her home, which needs windows and doors to be installed. This work is nearly done.

Thanks to her work, Anabel has managed a measure of security for her family in general, although there have been some highs and lows. Her goal is to continue getting ahead with her business, provide work for more people, and one day to have a business set up in a fixed location instead of working in the open-air markets. She is interested in opening a dairy or produce shop.

About Kubo.financiero

Kubo.financiero is a regulated microfinance institution that provides accessible and affordable loans to borrowers in Mexico. Its online banking platform and other innovations enable Kubo to charge interest rates that are much lower than the average for MFIs in Mexico. By doing business in a new way -- leveraging technology and customized risk profiles -- the organization is able to support microfinance clients throughout the country. With funds from Kiva lenders, Kubo is able to expand its lending network even further, reach riskier clients who have less credit history, decrease interest rates for borrowers, and scale its service area.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
