Ligia Hiomaly is 20 years old and comes from Leon, which is located in the west. She's known to be hard-working and responsible, with the drive to succed in her life. She works very hard to succeed in life, in spite of the financial hardships that her family has been going through. She decided to continue studying and working at the same time, so that she can make something of herself and have a brighter future.
Thanks to her efforts and her drive to get ahead, she runs a door-to-door business selling plastic products such as thermos, buckets and other items, as well as cosmetics such as eye shadow, blush, beauty products, eyeliner, under eye concealers, anti-wrinkle cream, moisturizer, perfume, body stockings and lipstick. She works 10 hours a day offering her products. The purpose of the loan is to get working capital and stock her business, so that she can improve her profits in a not-so-distant future. Ligia thanks Kiva lenders for the help they provide to people of scarce financial resources in poor countries like Nicaragua so they can have a decent means of livelihood.

Gracias a su esfuerzo y sus ganas de salir adelante tiene por actividad económica la venta de productos plasticos como termos, panas, valdes y cosméticos de forma ambulante, como sombra de ojos, rubor, marbellines, delineador, anti ojeras, antiarrugas, hidratante, perfumes, body, labiales, Ella dedica a su negocio unas 10 horas diarias ofreciendo su producto. El objetivo del crédito es invertir en capital de trabajo y surtir su negocio, para que en un futuro muy lejano pueda obtener mejores ingresos. Ligia agradece la ayuda que los inversionistas kiva les brindan a personas de escasos recursos y países pobre como es Nicaragua para tener un medio de trabajo digno.

Fundación Leon 2000 began operations in 1993 as the first microfinance institution to serve the western part of Nicaragua, a country which continues to be one of the poorest in the western hemisphere. Fundación Leon 2000 works to further the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises through credit services and management, applying the best credit industry practices and technical expertise. Additionally, Fundación Leon manages several business and financial education programs in the community, specifically for young entrepreneurs and at-risk youth. Fundación Leon 2000’s group of experienced and dedicated employees works in 7 offices in Leon, Chinandega, Chichigalpa, Somotillo, Jinotepe, El Sauce, and Nagarote and serves several thousand clients (the majority of whom are women).
