Angela, 52, lives in the Laureles Sur neighborhood of Managua. She is married and has a son, 15, in high school. Her husband is a supervisor for an industrial company and contributes to the family's living expenses. Angela has operated a small general store for a year, a business that she started with help from her husband and her own hard work. She gets up early to make breakfast for her husband and son so that she can open the store each morning in time for students on their way to school to stop and buy what they need from her. The loan will be used to stock the store with basic grains because they're costly now and it's become difficult to buy them in large quantities.
