A loan of $1,075 helped to buy spring and summer clothing and footwear.

Marilu's story

Marilu is forty-four years old. She lives together with her husband and their two children in the district of Oyotun, a rural area located two hours from the city of Chiclayo on the northern coast of Peru. The people who live here make a living in agriculture, trade, and livestock.

She makes a living selling clothing for children, women, and men. She has 10 years of experience, and so the majority of those living in her community know about Marilu and her business. Her husband helps her in this work, and he travels to the capital city in order to bring clothing back to their community.

Marilu has requested a loan of 3,000 soles to buy summer and spring clothing and footwear. In doing this, she will offer her customers a greater variety of products while also earning a higher income to benefit her family.
