Marilu
Marilu is forty-four years old. She lives together with her husband and their two children in the district of Oyotun, a rural area located two hours from the city of Chiclayo on the northern coast of Peru. The people who live here make a living in agriculture, trade, and livestock.

She makes a living selling clothing for children, women, and men. She has 10 years of experience, and so the majority of those living in her community know about Marilu and her business. Her husband helps her in this work, and he travels to the capital city in order to bring clothing back to their community.

Marilu has requested a loan of 3,000 soles to buy summer and spring clothing and footwear. In doing this, she will offer her customers a greater variety of products while also earning a higher income to benefit her family.

Marilu tiene 44 años de edad, vive junto a su esposo y sus dos hijos en el distrito de Oyotun, una zona rural donde su población se dedica a la agricultura, comercio y ganadería siendo su principal fuente económica, a dos horas de la ciudad de Chiclayo, costa norte del Perú.


Ella se dedica a la venta de ropa para niños, damas y caballeros tiene una experiencia de 10 años en este rubro, por lo que la mayoría de su comunidad la conocen, su esposo le apoya en esta labor, el viaja a traer ropa desde la capital.


Marilu ha solicitado un préstamo de 3 000 nuevos soles para la compra de ropa de temporada primavera- verano y calzado y de esta manera ofrecer a sus clientes variedad de productos, generando al mismo tiempo mayores ingresos para su familia.

This product was created to assist Edpyme Alternativa to expand their reach into rural areas of Northern Peru in order to attend more underserved populations. Kiva funding allows the institution to access the Northern areas of the Piura, Lambayeque, and Cajamarca regions, which are generally too costly to serve and therefore less attended by financial institutions.
