Joseph is a married man who has been blessed with three children who go to school. He lives at his own house that has neither electricity nor piped water. His greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees.
Joseph has operated a charcoal selling business, selling from home to his neighbors and villagers. His greatest monthly challenge is the high cost of transportation. For the Kshs 50,000 he wants to purchase charcoal for resale. He dreams of expanding to a wholesale shop in the future.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
