Nuevo Horizonte [New Horizon] is in their 10th loan cycle of the committee program. They are also part of the poverty elimination program and they are all taking the poverty elimination survey, which can help them to understand each of their individual situations. All of the women, through their effort and continuing hard work, are improving their situation with regards to poverty.

One of them is Emilce, who works selling a variety of foods that she makes herself. Thanks to the delicious taste she has, it is going very well for her and she has loyal customers who always like her food and buy from her. She requests this loan as she currently needs to buy supplies for her business,so she can continue making her delicacies. She wants to buy meat, vegetables, condiments, etc., which will allow her to continue growing the business.

Nuevo horizonte está en su décimo ciclo del programa de comité, además forma parte del programa de eliminación de la pobreza, donde todas están haciendo la encuesta de eliminación de la pobreza, que les podrá ayudar a conocer la situación en la que cada una está. Todas a través del esfuerzo y el trabajo continuo se encuentran mejorando su situación de pobreza.
Una de ellas es la Sra. Emilce, quien se dedica a la venta de comidas en general que ella misma hace. Gracias a que tiene muy rica sazon le esta yendo muy bien y se ha hecho de una clientela fiel que siempre gusta de sus comidas y compran de ella.
Pide de este préstamo ya que necesita comprar insumos para su negocio, y de esa forma poder seguir haciendo sus delicias. Quiere comprar carne, verduras, condimentos, etc, que le permitirá seguir creciendo.

This loan is part of the innovative “Poverty Stoplight” program developed by Fundación Paraguaya for women living in poverty. A “stoplight” measurement tool is used to help borrowers self-identify the type of poverty that affects them most (lack of income, dearth of financial opportunities, poor living conditions etc.). Borrowers rate 50 areas of their life as green (not poor), yellow (poor) or red (extremely poor). Together with their loan officer, they come up with a plan to resolve yellow and red indicators. Through this program, Fundación Paraguaya hopes to lift 9,000 women and their families out of poverty by 2017.
