Sophanna is 48 years old. She is widowed and resides with four children in Siem Reap Province, Cambodia.
She has been working as a chef for more than ten years, earning approximately USD 5 daily. Three of her children are employed. They are hotel staff, a soldier and a bus ticket seller. They earn about USD 12 each day to help cover the family’s expenses.
Due to the difficulty in her family’s transportation, Sophanna is requesting a loan of USD 1,500 to buy a motorbike for commuting. This purchase will help her reduce the transportation expense.
In the future, she would like to run a laundry shop and help her youngest child earn a bachelor’s degree. In addition, she wants to build a new bigger house because she has an extensive family.
