Susan is a 52-year-old woman from Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental, Mindanao, Philippines. She is married with 3 children.
In order to survive and sustain their family, Susan and her husband engage in rice and corn production to earn a living. Her family has been in this business activity for more than 20 years already as their main source of income.
Susan became an active member of Paglaum MPC with good credit standing. She enjoys the privileges of being a member of the Cooperative, and now she wants to obtain financial assistance in the amount of 10,000 Philippines Pesos (PHP). This loan is intended to purchase farm inputs and pay labor costs in cultivating the land for rice and corn production. She dreams of nothing more than having a happy and healthy life with her family and an adequate income from her business.
Susan deeply wishes to remain a member in good standing with PMPC, and she repays her obligations in a timely manner.
About Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative
Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PMPC) was founded in 1992 by the beneficiaries, parents and staff of the Paglaum Community Development Foundation to address economic and livelihood activities for sustainability. The organization operates in the northwestern provinces of Mindanao and Visayas.
In the local vernacular, “paglaum” means “hope.” The initial foundation is dedicated to child development through a holistic approach. The goal is to build self-reliance and expand opportunity so the poorest of the poor can help themselves.
