Mrs. Non N., 31 years old, is a vegetable grower; she earns around US $3.2 per day. Her husband, who is 37 years old, is a construction worker. Non grows vegetable crops such as beans, cabbages, and cucumbers and she sells to the market. Non lives with her husband and two children. All of their children are young and in school. To increase their family's income, she needs a loan to purchase fertilizer for her crops.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
