Blanca is a member of the Kusikuy Communal Bank (happiness in Quechua)
Blanca is 56 years old, married, and has 6 children; she travels to different markets in the region where she buys grains. After her purchase she sells to wholesalers at different markets in the city of Ayacucho; during the potato harvest she makes “dried potatoes” (boiled and peeled potatoes that are then let to dry in the sun; these are then used to prepare food typical of the coastal areas); she acquires the potatoes from producers who bring them to her but also send their products to the coastal area.

Blanca needs a loan of 1200 soles that she will invest in the purchase of potatoes by the sack. She dreams that her two young sons will become professionals and will have a stable store that generates income without much effort.
