Sonia is a 51-year-old married woman living with her husband and two children. In 1995, she started to work as a tailor, and she is much endowed at her profession. In parallel, and seeing the fact that Sonia and her family suffer from lack of financials, she works at producing homemade food which she sells to restaurants.
And today, Sonia is seeking to improve her operations and increase her productivity by purchasing a new tailoring machinery. She will acquire it thanks to the loan she is asking for from Kiva's partner, Vitas s.a.l.
Sonia is a very optimistic person who always looks for the best, and she is sure that the loan will positively impact her business and change her family’s life to become contented.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
