Norman helps his wife operate their own general store while he farms to make a living. During his free time, he repacks goods and watches the store when his wife buys stock in town. He borrowed money from GDMPC micro credit to purchase more grocery goods to resell. He hopes to increase their income and have a stable source of income in the near future.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
