Marcela
Sra. Marcela is 41 years old, married, and lives in the department of Solalá. She has four daughters aged 12, 15, 11 and 8. The eldest helps her mother with her business and the others are still at school.

Currently Marcela has a grocery store in her home; with the income from the store she supports the family. She started the business ten years ago when she saw her own family's need and that of her neighbours for a nearby grocery where they could buy daily necessities.

She has maintained steady sales through the years, and now at this time of year the demand for certain products increases. For this reason she wishes to borrow Q7,000.00 to buy more daily basics as stock for the store. She will have more products to offer her customers and will earn more money for her family.

Marcela's dream is to open another business and earn more money so she can continue helping her children complete their education and have more opportunities in life.
