The Benkadi Group is a group of women in the Darsalam district of the city of Koutiala who live in large traditional families with their husbands, children and other relatives. They are on average 38 years old, married and have at least six children. This group of women sells a variety of goods, such as clothing, cosmetics, sundries, etc. To increase the size their businesses, the members of Benkadi Group decided to join Soro Yiriwaso's loan program, where they are on their fourth group loan.

Ms. Adam is sitting in the middle of the above photo with her cosmetic soaps and blues (a household product used for washing fabrics) around her. She plans to use her loan to buy ingredients to make soap and blue. She purchases these products at the market in Koutiala and makes her sales at home and in the market to a diverse clientele. While other members of the group have achieved an average profit of 110,000 FCFA this season, Ms. Adam expects to achieve 115,000 FCFA. In addition to repaying their loans, the women of the Benkadi group use a portion of their revenues for personal expenses and to increase the their businesses operating funds.

Benkadi est un regroupement de femmes du quartier Darsalam de la ville de Koutiala qui se vivent dans de grandes familles traditionnelles avec leurs maris, enfants et autres parents. Elles ont en moyenne 38 ans, sont mariées et ont au moins 6 enfants.
Ce groupe de femmes fait le commerce d’articles divers tels, les habillements, les cosmétiques, articles divers, etc.
Pour augmenter la taille de leurs activités, les membres ont décidé d’intégrer le programme crédit de Soro Yiriwaso. Elles sont à leur quatrième prêt de groupe.
Adam est un membre du groupe assise au milieu avec ces produits cosmétiques savons et du bleu, elle compte utiliser son prêt pour acheter des ingrédients pour faire du savon et du bleu. Elle se procure de ces produits au marché de Koutiala et effectue ses ventes en détail et au comptant à la maison et au marché et à une clientèle diverse.
Tandis que les autres membres du groupe Benkadi comptent réaliser un bénéfice moyen de 110000 chacune au cours de ce cycle Mme Adam compte réaliser 115 000FCFA.
En plus du remboursement des prêts, elles utilisent une partie du revenu pour faire face aux dépenses personnelles et augmenter son fonds de commerce.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients. Kiva lenders’ funds will enable Soro Yiriwaso to expand its outreach and target even more underserved Malians involved in business and agriculture.
