Yamila
Yamila is 53 years old and has a refreshment stand where she sells soft drinks, juices, water bags, ice, and other packaged refreshments. She has been doing this for 27 years and her business experience began in the Sucre department in Colombia. Yamila’s refreshment shop is visited by athletes who practice different activities at a field located across from her home, where her business is located.

She works from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm every day and her customer demand increases over the vacation season. She is asking for her first Kiva loan, through Fundación Mario Santo Domingo, so she can buy soft drinks, water, and other drinks for her customers when it’s hot in this hot area close to the Caribbean Sea. This Kiva loan will increase her working capital and allow her to add inventory, making her loan a success.
