Flavia is a single mother of four children and all her children go to school. She also takes care of additional family members (her younger brother). She has a retail shop and has been in this business for 10 years. She has applied for a loan of 1,000,000 Uganda shillings from MCDT-SACCO to buy more creates of soda, mineral water, boxes of packed juice and biscuits. She works at the market six days out of every week. She generates additional income from selling used clothes.
Flavia's major business challenges include seasonality and thieves. She is aspiring of owning a fully stocked retail shop and also buying a plot of land and building a house. She decided to join MCDT-SACCO because of low interest charged. She resides in a rented house and the family has access to electricity but not to piped water. Her monthly expenses includes school fees and rent.
