Kupha is a mother who owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water.
She operates a mat business at the market, selling to passersby and neighbours. She cited seasonality as her major challenge in the business.
With the Kshs 50,000 she wants to purchase weaving materials: palm leaves and needles. Her dream is to see her children get a better education and become important people in the society.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
