Annet is the single mother of five children, none of them in school. She doesn’t take care of additional family members. She resides in a rented house and the family has access to electricity and piped water. Her monthly expenses include rent and feeding the family.
She has a business selling charcoal, and she sells to all categories of people on a retail basis. She works at the market six days out of every seven. She generates additional income through roasting maize.
She has applied for a loan of UGX 500,000 from MCDT-SACCO to buy more bags of charcoal. Her major business challenges include seasonality and thieves.
She aspires to become a wholesaler and also to buy a plot of land and build her own house.
