Anahit is an experienced agronomist from Masis village of the Ararat region. She lives with her husband, two sons and her elderly mother-in-law who receives a pension. Anahit works as a teacher in the village's local school. Her younger son is a contractual serviceman in the military. Their salaries, however, are so low that they cannot afford a living based on those salaries. To be able to make ends meet, Anahit is engaged in breeding livestock of pigs, piglets and hens as well as in the cultivation of wheat, apricot, cherry and grapes. Her family members assist her greatly in her everyday activities related to farming. Anahit's husband and elder son sell the agricultural products in the local market, which is an important source of the family's income.

To continue running her agribusiness in a sustainable way, Anahit needs a loan of 2,000 USD to purchase some forage for the livestock and buy fertilizers. As this is Anahit’s first loan, it has been approved within the framework of the new joint initiative of Kiva and SEF. The first-chance loan program provides loans to people who did not previously have access to credit products because they had no credit history. Anahit and her family rely on the goodwill of lenders and will be thankful to them for their support.
