Kary Gregorio
View original language description ↓
Kary Gregorio is 30 years of age and has 8 years of service with the state. He has two children, one is three years old and the other is one month old. His partner stopped working because of problems with her pregnancy. Señor G., with his three previous loans, succeeded in building his home. He will use this fourth loan to improve his home by adding “repello” (an extra coating of cement thrown onto the side of a wall) and tile. Further, he will build a porch to avoid water getting in the house when it rains heavily. His loans have been paid responsibly and he is known for being honest and responsible with many moral values. He tells us that, once he pays this loan, he will continue working with AFODENIC to succeed in painting his house and to have the decent home he has always dreamt of for his children.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
