Sok is 45 years old. She is married and resides with five children in Takeo Province, Cambodia. She has been growing rice and fattening up animals for more than ten years, earning one dollar per day. Two of her children are employed in a garment factory. They make an income of $6 each day to help support the family. To improve her family’s finances, Sok is requesting a loan of $1200 to purchase farmland for growing rice. This purchase will help expand her business and earn more income for the family. In the future, she would like to run a grocery store and help her children earn a bachelor’s degree.
