Elina is married and has three children. She helps her husband in their farm, to make a living. She raises pigs for sale, while her husband grows and harvests coconut and bananas, selling them in town. She borrowed a loan from GDMPC, which she will use to repair the livestock shelter. In the future, Elina wants to see her children successful.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
