Conchita is helping her husband, operating their own farm of rice to make a living. She has been planting and harvesting rice for fifteen years. By doing this, she has been able to provide for her family's daily needs. She joined GDMPC and borrowed a loan, which she will use to purchase fertilizer to improve their rice production. She wants to improve the general living situation of her family, in the near future.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
