The seven members of the DJANTOYERELA group are married women averaging 40 years old with 5 children each. Most of them live in polygamous families in the Noumousso neighborhood of Kadiolo.

This is their eleventh loan with the Soro Yiriwaso microfinance institution, in the hopes of satisfying their customers.

Sitan, seated in the middle of the photo, is the group member who sells condiments. With her loan, she intends to buy two 50 kg baskets of soumbala [a West African condiment], which she will sell for cash to female retail customers in Côte d’Ivoire.

She plans on earning an average monthly income of 52,500 CFA Francs, part of which will be used to pay off her loan with interest, and the rest of which will go into her savings.

Les sept membres du groupe DJANTOYERELA sont essentiellement des femmes mariées avec une moyenne d’âge de 40 ans, et ont en moyenne 5 enfants. Elles vivent la plupart dans des familles polygames au quartier Noumousso de Kadiolo.
Elles sont à leur onzième prêt avec l’institution de micro finance Soro Yiriwaso, dans le souci de satisfaire le besoin de leur clientèle.
Mme SITAN fait le commerce de condiments dans ce groupe de femmes, elle est assise au milieu sur la photo.
Elle compte acheter avec son prêt 2 paniers de 50 kg de soumbala 3 et revend en détail en Côte d’Ivoire à une clientèle composée de femmes au comptant.
Elle envisage réaliser un bénéfice mensuel moyen de 52 500 francs cfa dont une partie est utilisée pour payer le prêt et son interêt et l’autre pour son épargne.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients. Kiva lenders’ funds will enable Soro Yiriwaso to expand its outreach and target even more underserved Malians involved in business and agriculture.
