Ruzanna is an experienced farmer from Vanadzor city of Lori region. She lives with her husband and school-aged son. To take care of her family’s everyday needs, Ruzanna is engaged in cattle and pig breeding, in beekeeping, and in cultivation of potatoes and apples. Her husband sells the agricultural products in the local market, which is the main source of the family’s income.

As the autumn is progressing, Ruzanna’s agricultural business needs some investments to continue developing in a sustainable way. A loan of USD 3000 will be a huge support to this hard-working woman and her family, enabling them to purchase forage (hay and concentrated forage) for the livestock. She has already taken a loan from a local financial institution before, but unfortunately wasn't able to return it. However, thanks to their hard work in recent times, Ruzanna was able to run her farming business in a sustainable way, ensuring that she will be able to cover the monthly payments.

So Ruzanna has now been approved for a loan within the framework of a new joint initiative between Kiva and SEF international. The second-chance loan program provides loans to people who have a bad credit history and have no access to credit products. Ruzanna and her family will be thankful to all the lenders for helping them maintain their farming business.
