Riziki is married and has two children, one of whom attends school while one is still young. She owns a house that has electricity but not piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees.
For the past ten years, she has owned a food stall business; her customers are neighbours and town dwellers.
With the Kshs 20,000 she wants to purchase a stock of goods like sugar, rice, maize, wheat flour and cooking fat. She dreams of expanding to a modern café business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
