Mwanamisi is a married woman and has five children. She lives at her own house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees.
For the past ten years, Mwanamisi has operated an open air food business. Her potential customers are market dwellers and neighbors. She faces a major challenge of seasonality of products in the market.
With the KES 50,000, Mwanamisi wants to purchase cooking oil, wheat flour, and rice for the business. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
