Halima is a widowed mother of five children. She lives at her own house that has no electricity or piped water.
For the past three years, she has operated a clothes selling business, selling door to door to her neighbors and passersby. She faces a major challenge of lack of enough capital for the business. She dreams of expanding and establishing a boutique business in the future.
With the loan she is requesting of KES 40,000, she wants to purchase bales of clothes for resale. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
