Javier es un joven emprendedor de 22 años de edad, su vida productiva la comenzó trabajando como empleado en una tienda de abarrotes, allí obtuvo la experiencia y el conocimiento necesario para el manejo de este tipo de negocios y, por iniciativa propia decidió comprarle el negocio a su jefe, poco a poco fue pagando por cuotas el valor del establecimiento y, desde hace 8 meses pasó de ser empleado a propietario del negocio, allí ofrece mecato, productos de aseo, lácteos, cárnicos, gaseosas, entre otros y, presta el servicio de Lunes a Domingo, con esta labor ha podido mejorar sus ingresos para aportar a la economía de su hogar. Su empuje, energía y su actitud positiva lo motivan para solicitar el crédito con el fin de invertirlo en la compra de vitrinas y estanterías nuevas para almacenar sus productos, pues esto le permitirá dar una mejor imagen a su negocio y así podrá atraer a nuevos clientes para ofrecerles un excelente servicio y una gran variedad de productos, mejorando sus ventas y la rentabilidad de su negocio. De esta manera Javier desea seguir luchando para alcanzar sus objetivos, especialmente el de ampliar su negocio y convertirlo en un minimercado, abriendo la posibilidad de mejorar la calidad de vida y el bienestar para su familia.

This loan is structured on Kiva as a bullet loan, which means a single payment is required at the end of the loan term. By Colombian law, Kiva's partner Interactuar is required to offer borrowers loans with a variable interest rate that fluctuates with the market rate. Because fixed monthly payments are applied first to interest and then to principal, Interactuar is unable to predict upfront what portion of each repayment would go towards the loan principal. This creates a challenge with Kiva's system, which doesn't allow for unpredictable principal payments, and can result in some Interactuar clients appearing falsely delinquent. To remedy this, the loan has an end-of-term repayment plan on Kiva, but the borrower will continue scheduled monthly repayments to Interactuar, who will then pass along the principal amount to Kiva lenders. This means that you may see repayments made on this loan throughout the repayment term, as opposed to receiving repayment in full at the end of the loan term.
