Mercy is 21 years old and a single mother of two whom she supports. She is into the milk-trade business in Kericho town. This has been her income-generating business for the last five years. She gets an average monthly income of 150,000 KES [Kenyan shillings].
She has borrowed a loan of 100,000 KES, and she plans to use the amount borrowed to purchase more milk for resale and a small cooler to preserve the milk before she sells it. Her dream is to educate her children to a higher level of education. She also hopes to expand her business and purchase a milk-processing machine and a cooling plant.
